The South Downs Bunkhouse is situated at Houghton Farm very close to the point at which The Southdowns Way crosses the River Arun. The Monarch’s Way also passes through the village.

Houghton Farm is an arable and dairy farm run by the Lock family who would be delighted to welcome visitors to their new bunkhouse that has been created in the refurbished traditional barns at the farm.

The hamlet of Houghton is within easy walking distance of Amberley Railway Station has two excellent pubs for lunch or dinner and a riverside cafe that caters for breakfast as well as evening meals. In addition there is a cafe at Whiteways which is a short cycle away. The nearby, pretty village of Amberley has a tea rooms and village stores.
